Carlos Diaz was born in Rio Gallegos (Argentina) and started to play the guitar as a child by teaching himself. Later he started his own group and toured the festivals and clubs of Fireland, Patagonia and Buenos Aires. In the 80s, he was a part of the musical movement “Proyeccion Folklorica”, that combined the roots of Argentinian folk with Jazz and contemporary music and became the background for artists such as Dino Saluzzi, Lito Vitale or Pedro Aznar.

Carlos Diaz wurde in Rio Gallegos (Argentinien) geboren und brachte sich als Kind selbst das Gitarrespielen bei. In den achtziger Jahren war er Teil der musikalischen Bewegung “Proyeccion Folklorica”, die die Wurzeln des Argentinischen Folk mit Jazz und zeitgenössischer Musik kombinierte und das Fundament wurde für Musiker wie Dino Saluzzi, Lito Vitale oder Pedro Aznar.
